Use the above phone numbers to advise the Smokespotters of sightings of smoke. You do not need to be a Smokespotter to report smoke in the Helidon Hills but if you are not a Smokespotter, please try to get a compass bearing or be able to describe your location and preferably some landmark that is between you and the smoke.
Use the email addresses only to send photos of smoke sightings along with the precise location from which the photo is taken (see the post on using photos to report and locate smoke sightings). Always phone to advise that the email has been sent; we do not constantly monitor our email accounts.
Do not post information about smoke sightings in the Comments on this blog. We do not check the Comments regularly enough to get such information in time to take effective action.
PLEASE, if you have a permit to burn in the Helidon Hills, inform one of the Coordinators on the day you are going to burn (BY PHONE - we do not constantly monitor our email or text messages), before you light up.
